For the second year in a row, John Perkins Construction took home an accolade at the BSG Health & Safety Awards.
The John Perkins team won the Member of the Year – Central and West Award, after being nominated by BSG (Building Safety Group) inspectors in recognition of excellent site Health & Safety.
Rob Yeandle, Managing Director of John Perkins Construction, comments: “We are particularly proud of this award, due to the fact that is it is judged on overall safety performance throughout the year, rather than based on one particular project. It feels extra special, because we didn’t nominate ourselves. We were nominated by the BSG safety advisors, who always set high standards for us to live up to.”
This award win follows last year’s achievement at the 2017 BSG Awards, when John Perkins Construction won the BSG Project of the Year Award for its Health & Safety efforts during the challenging restoration of Bristol Harbourside’s Underfall Yard.
Health & Safety is a continual focus for John Perkins Construction, which holds regular Safety Committee Meetings with its board members, and Supply Chain Seminars to brief key subcontractors on Health & Safety matters.
Rupert Perkins, Contracts Director of John Perkins Construction, comments: “With Health & Safety, it’s an ongoing job to keep up to speed. Good safety culture needs to be driven from the top down, through our own team and our Supply Chain. We know we’re only ever as good as the people on our sites, which is why we’re always looking for opportunities for refresher training, and we take time to reflect on lessons-learned.”
