John Perkins Construction transformed the second floor of UWE Bristol’s L Block into a high-tech suite of laboratories for biology and nuclear research.
Resulting from a competitive tender win, the refurbishment was carried out over 14 weeks in a ‘live’ environment. The rest of the building remained in use by UWE staff and students throughout the project.
Logistical challenges were overcome through tightly-controlled delivery times and open communication with UWE staff, project managers Faithful+Gould, and the project team.
The works were carried out on an open-book basis, with a strong sense of collaboration between all parties.
