The Chapter House premises of Bristol Dental Hospital were refreshed during John Perkins Construction’s fast-turnaround refurbishment of the entrance, lobby, staircase and communal areas.
The ‘live’ hospital environment, with Chapter House remaining open to the public throughout, meant there could be no disruption to staff or patients.
The John Perkins team was up against tight time constraints. Keeping to programme was critical, due to the closure of the staircase and fire escape route. The project involved rewiring the emergency lighting into the main system, while maintaining emergency lighting throughout.
Although a smaller scheme, this refurbishment held many of the same challenges as larger schemes, in terms of logistics, Health & Safety, and programme.

We are extremely happy with the main stairwell refurbishment work John Perkins Construction has carried out. The users are really happy with the end result and have given some good verbal feedback. The team involved were amenable, proactive and hard-working.
